Is the camp for boys and girls?
Yes, Fashion Camp is for everyone with a passion for fashion! The camp is for ages 8 to 17, but campers will break out into sub groups by age and work on projects with their peers.
Where is the camp located?
For the Summer 2018 session we will be in Downtown Santa Monica only a block away from the 3rd Street Promenade located inside the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica at 1220 2nd St.. We are renting space inside the church because of its close proximity to downtown Santa Monica and do not have any affiliation with the church. How many years have you been running the camp?
We are very proud to announce this is our 5th season and GROWING! Our plan is to expand to the valley, dtla and the south bay. We would love to have you join us!
What is included in the fee? Will we need to bring supplies?
The fee includes all supplies for your session. We use DESIGNER LEVEL supplies meaning design markers, 80lb weight design paper, a variety of fabrics for draping and stitching, DRESS FORMS for draping and sewing machines. You will take away a portfolio case and portfolio with your designs. MAKE UP KIT included to take with you! We will have all supplies necessary, however we welcome you to bring your favorite tools.
What is the time for camp?
Camp runs from 9 AM to 2 PM. Campers/Designers will take around a 45 minute break for lunch… snacking is welcome anytime – it takes lots of brain power to design!
Need after care?
We offer late pick for $20 per hour. This needs to be pre-arranged however we are here for you!
Do I need drawing experience? How about sewing?
No drawing, sewing, or sketching experience is needed. We will teach you everything you need to know in order to create your own FAB portfolio.
Can I bring a friend or family on one day?
Please invite your friends and family the last day of camp. We will provide more details closer to the last day of camp.
Is lunch provided? Drinks?
You are invited to bring your own lunch each day. For your convenience, we are offering food delivery service from Postmates at a cost of $15/day. When signing up for camp there will be an option to purchase lunch. Additionally, snacks are available for purchase.
Where should we stay if we are from out of town?
The Santa Monica location is close to excellent hotels. Please email us at email@example.com for recommendations.
What does a typical day look like at Team Fashion Camp:
- Morning intros and recap of the day
- Breakout sessions in small groups and/or guest speaker
- Lunch with practicing the catwalk
- WEDNESDAYs are field trip days out and about depending on your sessions: Paramount Studios, 3rd street Promenade or Runaway Runway Truck visit
- Afternoons are focused on getting everything completed for the finale day
- FRIDAY finale for all-parents and friends are welcome to see everyone's work 1PM to 2PM
